Why a separate towel at the sink

A guest towel does a different job from a bath towel. It gets used briefly and often, by several people in a row, which is precisely the situation where a thick terry towel fails: it stays damp and everyone after the first person notices. Linen dries between uses, so the last guest of the evening finds the towel much as the first did.

They also earn their place in a powder room where a full bath towel would look out of proportion. A pair of linen guest towels, folded or hung, finishes the room in a way a paper stack never does.

Machine wash in cool to warm water with a gentle pH-balanced detergent, avoid bleach and harsh chemicals, then air dry or tumble on low.
