Linen Throw Blankets

Linen is the throw for the months when wool feels like too much. It breathes on a warm evening, takes the chill off a cool one, and softens with every wash. Fifteen designs in European flax, all machine washable.

Why a linen blanket behaves differently

Linen is the one natural fibre that gets better with use. Where wool needs protecting and cotton slowly thins, flax fibre relaxes: the weave loosens slightly, the hand turns from crisp to fluid, and the throw you own in five years is the one you will reach for first. That is why linen throws tend to outlive everything else on the sofa.

It also breathes in a way heavier fibres cannot. Linen moves air and moisture away from the skin, so a linen blanket works over bare legs in July as easily as over a duvet in April. If you sleep warm or your living room catches afternoon sun, this is the fibre to start with.

Choosing yours

Our linen throws run around 50 x 70 inches — enough to cover one person on a sofa or lie across the foot of a bed. Colours run from natural undyed flax through soft neutrals to striped designs such as the Maison Linen Throw. Wrinkles are part of the fabric, not a fault; linen looks best slightly rumpled and asks for no ironing.

Care

Machine wash in cool to warm water with a gentle pH-balanced detergent, avoid bleach and harsh chemicals, then air dry or tumble on low. No dry cleaning needed — unlike our alpaca and cashmere throws, linen is the easy one.
